Irvine’s Newest Authentic Montessori Preschool Now Open

Located in the Orchard Hills Village Center in East Irvine, LePort's Orchard Hills campus has opened its doors. Act now to secure one of the few remaining spots, or contact us to place your child on the waitlist for Fall 2012.

This small preschool campus, just shy of 80 students, offers your child a high quality early education experience in an intimate setting. Our Montessori program for Toddlers (ages 24—36 months) and Preschoolers (ages 3-6) will ensure that your child’s first learning experiences away from home and enjoyable and uplifting, all while offering him the personal skills, social competencies and academic foundation he needs to succeed in elementary school and beyond.

Our teachers are highly qualified: primary head teachers have a bachelor's degree, and have completed a challenging, year-long Montessori training program conducted by the Association Montessori Internationale, the organization founded by Dr. Montessori over 60 years ago. They have also honed their skills teaching at one of our other four campuses, benefitting from the careful guidance of our most experienced academic directors.

Our classrooms are safe, spacious and orderly environments, equipped with new, high-quality learning materials. The playground is beautiful, with lots of shade and equipped with safe and inviting play structures for your child to explore.

Our school is conveniently located in the Orchard Hills Village Center, close to other daily destinations, from grocery store to bank to dry cleaning, to help you manage your busy life. Our convenient schedules—including part-day and extended day care—make selecting LePort Irvine Orchard Hills an easy choice.

Our four year old has been attending LePort since he was two and a half. The level of attention the children receive is exceptional and they truly foster a love of learning that makes us proud to see. The staff members are committed to their program and the children they are entrusted with. We were amazed that our son had learned to write his name at age three and were blown away by the fact that he has started to bring home completed math assignments already. LePort fosters a caring environment and family atmosphere, which we love. The children enjoy their 'work' and take pride in their accomplishments. That the older children help out their younger peers on more challenging tasks develops a social dynamic that is special and unique. As parents we are very pleased with the value we receive from LePort and will be enrolling our younger son as well.

Ms. Parra earned her B.A. in Liberal Studies from the University of Redlands, as well as her Masters in teaching from National University. Her work with diverse student populations and cultural backgrounds has deepened her understanding of fundamental Montessori teaching principles, and heightened her awareness of each child's individuality. Ms. Goonaratne first came to the United States in 1996. She taught for eight years at a top-quality, AMI-affiliated school in San Diego. She returned to Sri Lanka for a few years to gain the support of family in raising her daughter, but ultimately she missed California. Upon her return in 2011, she searched the area for the most authentic Montessori schools. LePort Schools was lucky enough to meet her and bring her on board.

Ms. Goonaratne loves educating young children, and has made it her life's work. She seeks to create a supportive, warm, welcoming classroom where the children can explore and develop their independence. Testimonials

Please read these testimonials from parents at our existing four campuses, to get an impression of the quality and consistency of the Montessori program we will bring to this third Irvine location of LePort Schools.

"I have a two and a five year old that both attend LePort Montessori in Huntington Beach. I can't imagine placing my kids in any other school. My husband and I both work as public school teachers and this school is beyond superior. Our 5 year old will start kindergarten in the fall and is already reading, writing and solving arithmetic problems. He is doing work 1st graders do in the public school. Both of our kids amaze us along with our friends and family at the things they are able to do at such a young age. The best part is that they love school and want to attend even on the weekends. The teachers and staff are extremely caring and educated. You won't find a better school!!!!!" - LePort Parent, Huntington Beach

"My son started preschool at LePort, MV at age four. The AMI-certified teacher is not only extremely experienced, loving, and perceptive to each student's abilities and personality, she is attuned to the student's needs and develop his/her potential accordingly. When I asked my child what he did at school, he always said that he played all day long. As my son grew older, the teacher is able to individualize the curriculum to further challenge him. The staff and administration is organized and responsive. They are constantly implementing field trips and a variety of events. The school also offers different after-school classes like chess club, art classes, etc. Finally, the school is focused on providing a good education so that the students can thrive and mature into independent and responsible individuals." - LePort Parent, Mission Viejo

"I am a parent of 2 and this was my first time looking for a pre-school for my 4 year old daughter. I am very lucky to have found a school that has a comprehensive curriculum and fine staff members. There are many positives that the Montessori method has brought to my child and I will continue to keep her in LePort as long as I can. The teachers are committed to providing the children with quality and advanced work as well as a very trusting environment. I love LePort Montessori schools!" - LePort Parent, Irvine – San Marino

"The quality of education and care at LePort Montessori in Huntington Beach is much beyond any other pre-school that I have visited and heard about. Both our son (6) and daughter (3) started here at age 18 months. Our son recently transferred to Kindergarten at public school. The classrooms are calmer than other pre-school classrooms that I have seen and the children more engaged. Our son learned how to read and write at this pre-school and is so immensely proud of himself. And we are really impressed. At first I was worried that it might be too academic but I found that there is really no achievement pressure, no forcing kids to learn, no rewards, no punishments, no competition. This school is just a great example of how children do so much better when internally motivated as opposed to externally motivated." - LePort Parent, Huntington Beach

"Our daughter is 4. She has been at Leport Lake for 6 months now. We couldn’t be happier with the quality of this school. And we have a lot to compare it with... We've had terrible experience at one of the Newport Beach preschools. At LePort Lake she is safe, happy, and she learns a LOT. She is starting to try to read, she's already writes her name. Children at LePort learn geography, mathematics; they have dance classes, music classes, foreign language classes, sports.... I ALWAYS receive letters that inform us about changes or events at the school. I ALWAYS have opportunity to speak with my daughter's teachers or the head of the school with no problems. And I never felt or heard anything rude from whomever: children, teachers or parents. If you are in the process of finding a school for your child, reviews can help. BUT I would say: trust your eyes and heart! Just pay a visit to the school. When I saw confident, polite, happy and smart children there, I knew I wanted my daughter there. I’ve not been disappointed. Look at the children. If you like what you see, then you'll like your child to be there." - LePort Parent, Irvine – Lake

"I cannot say enough about LePort Montessori! Both my daughters cannot wait to go to school in the morning, and they are truly thriving. The staff and teachers are always available, courteous, nurturing, and friendly. They truly understand children and are able to tap into their potential and innate curiosity. My children are constantly exploring, engaged, thinking, and excited about learning. I don't believe there is anything better out there!" - LePort Parent, Huntington Beach

We love to show parents and students how we teach Knowledge for Life at LePort: please do visit us. When you tour our Montessori preschool, we will spend plenty of time with you—to understand your goals for your child's education, and to discuss how we can help you achieve them. We will show you around our preschool facilities, and let you take a brief look in our preschool classrooms. If you are interested, you are welcome to come back: we invite you to spend an hour or an entire morning observing the Montessori toddler or preschool classes your child or children would join.

After you tour and decide that Montessori preschool is right for your child, our enrollment process is simple. We want to make it easy for you to join our preschool community. If you are interested in immediate enrollment, just download the application materials, and send them in to us: no upfront fee required. Once we receive your application, we will call you back to discuss next steps for enrolling your child. If you are looking for future enrollment, or if our toddler or preschool classrooms are currently filled, we can add you to our waiting list, to ensure you receive enrollment priority once your child is ready to start in a toddler or preschool program, or when a spot opens up in the right classroom.

We look forward to meeting you—and to welcoming your entire family to our Montessori preschool.
