LePort Montessori Broadlands

An authentic, nurturing Montessori school, offering toddler daycare, preschool/kindergarten, and elementary school

At LePort Montessori Broadlands, you will find one authentic, nurturing Montessori school children can attend from toddler daycare and preschool through elementary school. By enrolling your child at our school, you’ll find a home away from home, a community of educators and fellow parents who believe in the goodness of the child, and the power of an individualized, respectful education. Our mission at LePort Montessori is to help children gain what we call Knowledge for Life: the essential knowledge, thinking skills and strength of character needed to flourish as joyous children today, and as successful adults tomorrow.

Our purpose-built school in the heart of Ashburn/Broadlands is set in a lush garden setting, with spacious playgrounds, including a soccer field, a half basketball court, a nature exploration area and a swimming pool. Each classroom has large windows, allowing the children to work in bright, beautifully prepared environments. Children have access to a large, indoor multi-purpose room for active play during bad weather (and for putting on special events and performances), as well as a library area for reflecting and studying in a loft-like, bright space we also use for intimate parent education meetings.

Our team of passionate educators look forward to meeting you, showing you around our school, and sharing their passion for authentic Montessori education. As Montessori is not a trademarked term, Montessori schools vary widely in quality: some daycares and preschools use the name for marketing, without delivering on the promise of a great education. With a combined 30 years of experience in education leadership among the four of them and two credentialed teachers, our school leadership team, led by Mr. James Rice, our long-term Head of School, and Ms. Melissa Kemendo, our Montessori-trained Director of Admissions and Parent Experience (both of whom have children attending LePort Montessori), is eager to help you discover what a high-quality, authentic Montessori looks like, and why and how children in quality Montessori receive an education for life.

Montessori for Toddlers = Optimal Early Learning

Enrolling your child in a Montessori toddler program, rather than at a childcare center, has many benefits. Here are just a few for you to consider:

A positive toilet learning experience.
Done the Montessori way, almost all children can be diaper free before their third birthday. Sign up for our newsletter on the form at the right to discover how we work together to facilitate this developmental milestone!

Fewer toddler struggles.
Montessori toddlers learn how to actually do things by themselves, making family meals more fun, and getting out of the house easier.

A child who learns to play happily by himself.
Montessori toddlers learn to play independently. You may be surprised how your 2-year-old can occupy himself happily, without your constant attention, no harmful TV needed!

A huge spurt in language capability.
Many parents report that their children’s vocabulary increased dramatically within a few months of joining our program. Better language skill = more fun interactions with your child, and fewer tantrums caused by not being understood!
