LePort Montessori School Cobble Hill
An authentic, nurturing Montessori school, offering infant and toddler daycare, preschool, kindergarten, and a Spanish immersion option for toddler and preschool/kindergarten. Tour our classrooms, spacious rooftop playground, and large indoor gross motor area.
Our school is a newly-renovated, charming, landmarked building located in the Cobble Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn. With an emphasis on simplicity, beauty, and the natural world, our classrooms invite children to explore materials, concepts, and friendships free from the clutter and hurried pace of a large city. Our school offers a rooftop play area with stunning views of lower Manhattan and all of Brooklyn, and provides students with plenty of room for both play and outdoor lessons, like gardening and practical life. We also boast a large indoor gross motor room for children to run and play indoors when the weather disallows for outdoor fun. We are located minutes from Downtown Brooklyn in the Cobble Hill neighborhood between Douglass and Degraw St, close to the Bergen Street and Carroll Street subway stops. Our convenient daily schedules are tailored for working parents: we open as early as 7 am, and are open until 6 pm, with year-round program options. Our shorter half-day programs for toddlers and preschoolers are a great option for combining a high-quality school experience with time at home.
Montessori is not a trademarked term, Montessori schools vary widely in quality: some daycares and preschools use the name for marketing, without delivering on the promise of a great education. Our program has all the components of authentic Montessori: we offer family-like, mixed-age communities, highly trained teachers, and extended stretches of uninterrupted time for children to freely select and fully-explore the many enticing Montessori learning materials they find in their classrooms. The Cobble Hill team looks forward to getting to know you, and to helping you discover whether and how Montessori can offer a great environment for your child and family.
