Elementary School 1st – 6th Grade
At LePort Montessori, we believe every child deserves a caring and fun place to learn. Our Elementary program for 1st to 6th graders builds on the strong foundation from their early years, helping them grow in school and in life. With small class sizes, our teachers focus on individual interests and learning styles. With a balanced schedule and minimal homework, children can explore and discover without feeling overwhelmed. Join our welcoming community where kids not only learn but also love learning!

Why LePort for Elementary School?
With small class sizes, our teachers are able to know each child well and support their specific needs. We maintain student/teacher ratios of 12:1 in lower elementary and 15:1 in upper elementary.
We teach lessons in small groups, based on each child’s ability and interests. This helps every student learn at their own pace and grow without feeling compared to others. In a 3-year age mix community (1st-3rd grade, and 4th-6th grade), each student is challenged at the level best suited for them. A 2nd grader may work on math in a group of 3rd graders, but remain with other 2nd grade students for language.
While reading and math are often the primary focus, as schools teach to standardized tests, we believe in a holistic approach. Our students take science, geography, history, art, and music each day. Field trips and special projects create engaging learning opportunities.
With five hours of instruction each day, most lessons and practice happen at school. This keeps homework light while still helping students learn and grow.
Our school reflects our neighborhoods, bringing together families from all walks of life. We hold regular events and encourage open communication between parents and teachers.
Our students learn new skills because they are curious, not for rewards like grades or stickers. They are excited to discover new things and love learning.
Field trips help our students build friendships and connect with what they are learning. Going Outs are student-organized trips. These trips help them gain real-world skills, like planning, budgeting, and organizing.
