LePort Montessori School Fountain Valley
An authentic, nurturing Montessori school, offering infant and toddler daycare, preschool/kindergarten and elementary school, as well as a Mandarin immersion program
LePort Montessori Fountain Valley welcomes your entire family: with programs from infants (as young as three months), through elementary school (6th grade), your children can thrive at our school for many years. We would like to help your child gain what we call Knowledge for Life: the essential knowledge, thinking skills, and strength of character needed to flourish as joyous children today, and as successful adults tomorrow. Many families choose our school, because we are known for being a great preschool—and stay through the elementary years, because they have discovered that the individualized, joyful learning experiences in our Montessori program are worth investing in, and that the support of a community of like-minded families and passionate educators is invaluable in raising a happy, healthy child.
LePort Montessori Fountain valley is an oasis in our suburban setting, a true California lifestyle school. Our 12-acre grounds give our students the opportunity to be active, to play soccer and basketball, to ride tricycles and bikes, to garden and even to manage our own small farm, complete with chickens and Bo, our much loved duck. Our brick school buildings are grouped around a central courtyard, where our community gathers under shade sails for everything from daily lunches, to larger-scale community events, such as spring and fall festivals. Our spacious campus allows us to offer a wide range of engaging experiences outside of the main classroom setting—everything from an art studio, to a carpentry workshop, to a sizeable, student-managed library.
Ms. Colleen Hazard, the Head of School, has been with our school for 5 years, first as an Assistant Head of School, and later in her current role as head of the leadership team. Her own daughter thrived at LePort, before moving on to high school. Ms. Hazard is currently enrolled in an intensive Montessori training program, as her love for the pedagogy has propelled her to learn all she can. Ms. Karen Almanza, Director of Admissions, is a trained Montessori teacher, who has been with LePort for 7 years, and is eager to share with you just why she found a passion for Montessori at LePort. As Montessori is not a trademarked term, Montessori schools vary widely in quality: some daycares and preschools use the name for marketing, without delivering on the promise of a great education. At LePort Fountain Valley, we are proud to deliver an authentic, high-quality Montessori education to every child.
