Our Preschool Home / About Us / Our Preschool LePort Montessori Irvine Westpark in Irvine, CA At LePort Montessori, we provide a warm and engaging environment for children. Following Dr. Maria Montessori’s methods, our mission is to help children build essential skills, develop positive habits, and foster a love of learning. Since 2008, we have proudly served the Irvine community with high quality daycare and preschool education. Through mixed-age classrooms, uninterrupted work time, and Montessori materials, we help children learn how to think, explore new things, and understand the world. By focusing on personal growth along with academics, we prepare them for success in school and beyond. Each room is made for the age of the children. Our infants have soft places to nap and built-in kitchens. Toddler rooms are cozy and safe, with in-room toilets for toilet learning. Primary classrooms are filled with a variety of age-appropriate materials. Trained Teachers We know that great teachers make a big difference in a child’s learning. We hire strong lead teachers in all of our schools, primarily those with credentials from the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) or the American Montessori Society (AMS). They create a calm space where their students can do their best. They work hard to make sure every child feels confident, supported, and excited about learning new things. A History of Innovation Our school was founded by Dr. Peter LePort. While in medical school, Dr. LePort learned about Dr. Maria Montessori and her ideas for teaching. When his children were old enough for school, he enrolled them in Montessori programs. However, he was disappointed with how the schools were run. He also saw how little the teachers were supported. Dr. LePort created LePort Montessori as a place where children could learn to think for themselves, develop strong academic skills, and become independent. Partnerships with Families We love working with parents to help every child thrive. They are welcome to visit and see what is happening in our classrooms. They can also come to special events and get messages from teachers to stay updated. We also host Parent Info Evenings during the year to share important news and talk about how we can work together to support each child’s growth. Our Virtual Parenting Talks help them learn more about Montessori and provide ideas for home. It helps them develop motor and social skills while learning reading, math, and more. Our students grow into confident young learners who are excited to explore the world around them. What makes Montessori different from other daycare curriculums? Children choose work they are interested in and learn at a pace that suits them, all with guidance from our teachers. Our classrooms are calm and organized. They create the perfect space for learning and independence. We are unlike traditional daycare, which often includes more free play. We provide structured, engaging tasks that build creativity and essential skills. We also teach our students how to be kind, work together, and make good choices without the use of rewards or punishments. What are the hours at LePort Montessori in Irvine Westpark?
